Glenn Maxwell scores a stunning hundred against WI

Australia has been playing West Indies for Tests, ODIs and T20Is. West Indies shocked many by winning against Australia in the final Test. But they got white-washed in the ODI series by 3-0. Now, in T20Is, West Indies is again at the danger for being white-washed even though they have been champions of the game.

West Indies won the toss and elected to field first in this second T20I. David Warner(22) and Mitchell Marsh(29) went after bowlers in the powerplay. After they got out, Glenn Maxwell started putting up a big show in the middle. He scored 120 runs from just 55 balls. Tim David came good with 31 runs from 14 balls in the final overs to push Aus score to 241/4.

Glenn Maxwell has equaled Rohit Sharma’s record of scoring 5 International Centuries in T20Is. He has announced his form with this innings and Aus would be hoping for him to keep himself injury free in IPL and carry it forward to CWC T20I in June. Well, with such a huge target, West Indies needed to go after Aus bowlers from the word go.

Captain Rovman Powell(63) and Andre Russell(37) gave a chance to get closer. In the match, even though Alzarri Joseph got run out, Umpire ruled against it as Australian players did not appeal for it. Still, Australia won the match by 34 runs as WI ended scoring 207/9 in 20 overs. Predictably, Glenn Maxwell has won the Player of the Match.
