Australia Women have been dominating Women’s International Cricket in a big way. Indian Women have been one of the big challengers for them but Indian team fell short in white-ball cricket yet again. In the only Test, India has been able to win but in ODIs and T20Is, they lost to Aus with 5-1 scoreline. Earlier, Aus Women won the toss and elected to bat first in the series decider.
Smriti Mandhana(29) and Shafali Verma(26) gave a good start but quickly India has been reduced to 66/4. Richa Ghosh(34) with the help of cameos from Deepti Sharma(14) and Amanjot Kaur(17) took the score to 147/6 in 20 overs. Aus Women gave away 15 runs in extras. Annabel Sutherland(2/12) bowled best spell for Aus by restricting Indian batters.
In the chase, captain Alyssa Healy took the game away from India by scoring 55 runs from 38 balls. Her innings did not let India find any chance to sneak past Aus batters. Beth Mooney(52) and Phoebe Litchfield(17) finished game for Aus. Pooja Vastrakar(2/26) with twin strikes tried to push Aus on backfoot and even dismissed Ellyse Perry for a duck.
Still, Australia Women won by 7 wickets by scoring 149/7 in 18.4 overs. Alyssa Healy has been picked up as Player of the series while Annabel Sutherland won Player of the match.
