Australia Women thrashes South Africa to win the ODI series

Both Aussie Legends come together to score well in this match for Aus

Australia Women lost in an ODI match for the first time to South Africa in the previous one. They have made a strong comeback in the last one to win the series. They did not give South Africa Women any chance to make any kind of impact. Australia won the toss and elected to field first. Captain Alyssa Healy, unlike her normal aggressive innings, she played a very calm one.

She scored 60 runs from 73 balls while Phoebe Litchfield(5) struggled. Even Ellyse Perry(24) could not play in full flow. Beth Mooney decided to play throughout the innings to score 82 runs from 91 balls. She helped Australia reach 277/9 in 50 overs. Tahlia McGrath also played a good innings with 44 from 35 balls. Masabata Klaas(4/56) did well for South Africa Women.

As the rain hit the game, South Africa Women have been asked to score 238 runs from 31 overs, using DLS method. They could not find means to score freely and dominate Aussie bowlers. Sune Luus(34), Tazmin Brits(31) and Nadine de Klerk(20) could only score some runs in an under-whelming innings. Marizanne Kapp got duck out due in this match after being great in the previous one.

South Africa Women got bowled out for 127 runs and Aus won the match by 110 runs. Alana King(4/26), Tahlia McGrath(3/23) and Kim Garth(3/14) did well for Aus. Tahila McGrath has showcased her all-round skills by scoring 44 runs and taking 3 wickets. Hence, she won Player of the Match award. With this win Aus won the ODI series with a 2-1 scoreline. Both the teams will play only Test from 15th Feb at Perth.
