VIT-AP University celebrates the 77th Republic Day with Pride and Patriotism Felicitates 10 Unsung Heroes from NDRF, DMHO, AP Police Departments

VIT-AP University celebrated the 77th Republic Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour at its Amaravati campus. The occasion was graced by the Chief Guest, Mr. R. Nageswar Rao, Group Vice President (HR), TVS Group, who hoisted the National Flag and addressed the gathering.

In his address, Mr. Nageswar Rao lauded VIT-AP University’s strong commitment to social responsibility. He highlighted the university’s unique initiative of honouring Unsung Heroes during Independence Day and Republic Day celebrations every year. He appreciated the institution for recognizing individuals who have selflessly served society and paid rich tributes to those who sacrificed their lives for the safety and well-being of others.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. P. Arulmozhivarman, Vice-Chancellor (In-charge), VIT-AP University, said,“At VIT-AP University, we believe in the importance of acknowledging the sacrifices made by our unsung heroes—our veterans and their families. Through the ‘Unsung Heroes’ initiative, we aim to extend our heartfelt support and appreciation for their courage and dedication. As a responsible institution, we remain committed to empowering the community by honouring those who have selflessly served society and the nation. This contribution is a small token of our immense respect and admiration for their invaluable service.”

As part of the celebrations, the university felicitated individuals under the Unsung Heroes initiative for their exemplary service and contributions to society.

District Medical & Health Department, Guntur District
1. Mrs. Karampudi Mary Anusha

2. Mrs. Ramishetti Anthony Rani
(ANM, Firangipuram Primary Health Centre)The above two demonstrated outstanding performance and dedication in postnatal care, child care, immunization, and registration of pregnant women for institutional deliveries. They were awarded a reward of ₹25,000/- each.

NDRF (National Disaster Response Force)

The above personnel demonstrated exemplary dedication in saving lives during various incidents. They were awarded a reward of ₹25,000/- each.

The above four personnel showed commendable dedication in saving the lives of the public during various incidents. They were awarded a reward of ₹25,000/- each.

VIT-AP University Bus Driver

10. Late Gajula Edukondalu

He safely stopped a bus carrying 47 students after suffering a severe heart attack and subsequently passed away. In recognition of his selfless act, a reward of ₹35,000/- (Rupees
Thirty-Five Thousand only) was presented to his family.

The event witnessed the presence of Dr. Jagadish Chandra Mudiganti, Registrar; Dr. S. K. Khadeer Pasha, Deputy Director – Student Welfare; Dr. N. Ramachandra Rao, Director – Physical Education, along with faculty members, staff, students, and other members of the university community.
