PM Modi Congratulates Tamil Nadu CM Vijay: C as the new Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. It is known that Joseph Vijay took oath. In this context, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Tamil Nadu’s new CM Vijay. A key message was given to the CM. Modi said that the central government is working with the Tamil Nadu government for the welfare of the people of the state. “Congratulations to Thiru C. Joseph Vijay on being sworn in as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. I wish you success in your tenure. The Center always cooperates with the state government to improve the lives of the people,” PM Modi posted on his ‘X’ account.
Meanwhile, Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar administered the oath of office to TVK chief Vijay in a grand ceremony at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai on Sunday. Along with Vijay, nine other members of his cabinet took oath. N. Anand, Adhav Arjuna, KA Sengottayan, KG Arun Raj, P. Venkataramanan, R. Nirmal Kumar, Rajmohan, TK Prabhu, S. Keerthanal took charge as ministers in Vijay’s cabinet. Before the ceremony, Vijay extended a warm welcome to the Governor and introduced his cabinet colleagues.
And, the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections will herald major changes in the state’s politics. The TVK party led by Vijay, who entered the election ring for the first time, created a sensation by winning 108 seats out of 234 seats. This is the first time since the 1960s that two major Dravidian parties (DMK, AIADMK) have lost power simultaneously. Although the TVK did not get a full majority on its own, the government was formed with Congress, CPI(M), CPI, VCK and IUML parties, which were previously in the DMK alliance, declaring their support for Vijay. Vijay, fondly called ‘Dalapati’ by his fans, attracted huge crowds during the election campaign. Analysts point out that his political growth reminds us of the erstwhile legend MG Ramachandran (MGR).
