Indian Railway Minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw has took to X, formerly Twitter, and announced new Amrit Bharat Trains approval. He stated that the Union Government and Indian Railways are happy with the response Amrit Bharat Express Trains have received upon inauguration in December, 2023.
While Vande Bharat Express trains are completely AC coaches, Amrit Bharat Trains are quite opposite. Amrit Bharat Trains have all Non-AC coaches and the fares are 15% higher than express trains. They have been scheduled to run long distances unlike Vande Bharat Express that do run between short distances as well.
The trains have great facilites like every seat having a cell phone charger and are designed to accomodate 1800 passengers over long distances upto 800 kms. More Amrit Bharat trains means the trains will be running from long distances across India.
Taking to X, Ashwini Vaishnaw wrote, “After the huge success of Amrit Bharat Train, 50 Amrit Bharat Trains have been approved.”

Well, Indian Railways seems to be taking steps to improve facilites for the passengers who depend mostly on this transportation system. Still, there are some complaints about the food served in Vande Bharat Express and high fares. Let’s see how Amrit Bharat trains aim to not fall into such criticism in coming days.
