Yatra 2 is the continuation of the story from Yatra movie. The original movie chronicled life of Leader YS Rajasekhar Reddy, who passed away in a helicopter accident tragically, in office as CM of United Andhra Pradesh. His son, YS Jagan has decided to continue his legacy and after a ten year struggle, he became CM of divided Andhra Pradesh.
He had to continuously negate the negative campaign against him from media as a corrupt politician and businessman. He came into politics after establishing himself as a businessman after media campaign against him and his father as major corrupt leaders. His father commenced Padayatra and it made him a people’s leader from being a politician and an opposition leader from Congress.
After YS Rajasekhar Reddy’s death, YS Jagan tried to stay in Congress and then came out to establish his current party, YSRCP. Mahi V Raghav, made a movie on YS Rajasekhar Reddy as Yatra. Now, he is back with Yatra 2, that talks about YS Jagan’s journey as opposition leader. Jiiva is playing the role of YS Jagan.
Mammootty is back as YS Rajasekhar Reddy and Mahesh Manjrekar is playing Nara Chandra Babu Naidu’s role. The movie is scheduled to release on 8th February. From the teaser, we can say that the makers have made a good film showcasing all important events with their dramatic highs. Santhosh Narayanan score also added to the overall impact.
