Manasi Parekh has made headlines by winning the Best Actress award at the 70th National Film Awards for her remarkable performance in the Gujarati film “Kutch Express.” This prestigious honor marks her fifth National Award, further establishing her as a leading figure in the film industry.
In a recent interview, Manasi reflected on the challenges she faced during the early days of her career. “I used to pack three pairs of clothes and leave the house by 8 AM every day,” she recalled, noting the arduous journey to auditions that often drew large crowds. “There would be around 150 people in line at times. No matter how tough it was, I couldn’t go home. I chose to face those challenges because our struggles define us. I’ve fought through them all, and the success that follows those hardships is even sweeter. If we believe in ourselves, we can achieve anything.”

Despite her success, Manasi shared her frustrations with being typecast in Bollywood. After playing Vicky Kaushal’s sister in “Uri: The Surgical Strike,” she found herself being offered similar roles, which led to a waning interest in the industry. “I felt boxed in. I started working as a producer on a few films to explore different opportunities. Despite expressing my desire for more varied roles in interviews, no one seemed to pay attention. Now, as a producer, I have the chance to create compelling characters,” she stated.
Manasi’s journey began in 2003 when she participated in a reality show and became a finalist. This experience launched her acting career, starting with the popular serial “Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi.” She made her film debut with “Leelai” in 2012, and since then, she has embraced numerous roles across various platforms.
