Delayed project Icon, which Allu Arjun was supposed to lead, may now get another popular star, Vijay Deverakonda, as lead. A film titled Icon has been circulating in Telugu cinema circles for several years now. Originally planned with Stylish Star Allu Arjun and director Sriram Venu, the project was to be produced by renowned filmmaker Dil Raju. However, due to Allu Arjun’s packed schedule, especially after the success of Pushpa, the film was put on indefinite hold.
Fans are waiting eagerly, hoping the project will eventually begin. But with Allu Arjun now busy with back-to-back pan-India projects, chances of him taking up Icon have become slim. This led to speculation that the film might either be shelved or made with a different actor.
Recently, during promotions for his latest production Thammudu, Dil Raju made an interesting comment about Icon. He confirmed that the film is still very much alive but with a new lead actor. He added that director Sriram Venu is now reworking the script slightly to suit another star.
Now, rumours are strong in Filmnagar that Vijay Deverakonda will step into the lead role. Vijay, known for his charm and on-screen energy, has seen mixed success in recent years but remains one of the most talked-about young stars in Telugu cinema. He already has an existing relationship with Dil Raju’s production house, having worked on Family Star and the upcoming Rowdy Janardhan.
With Icon possibly back on track and Vijay Deverakonda reportedly set to take the reins, fans are curious to see if this fresh pairing can finally bring the long-delayed project to life. Whether the film will begin immediately after Rowdy Janardhan or take some more time remains to be seen.
