Bollywood actress Vidya Balan recently returned to her iconic role as Manjulika in the horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Directed by Anees Bazmee, the film has taken the box office by storm, raking in over ₹150 crore so far. Starring alongside Tripti Dimri and Madhuri Dixit, Vidya Balan once again brings the thrill and charm of the original character to audiences, who have shown overwhelming support for the film.
Reflecting on the success, Vidya Balan shared her excitement in an interview: “I am thrilled by the love audiences are giving Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. This is the biggest success of my career. I never imagined I’d return to the Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise or step into Manjulika’s shoes again, but the audience’s connection with the character has lasted for years. My happiness is beyond words.”

Vidya also spoke about sharing a dance sequence with dance icon Madhuri Dixit in the film. “I am not a great dancer, but working with someone like Madhuri was challenging and inspiring. I knew I couldn’t match her, but I gave my best to do justice to my role. Opportunities like this are once-in-a-lifetime,” she said.
The Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise has been a huge success since its debut in 2007 with Akshay Kumar in the lead and Vidya Balan’s original portrayal of Manjulika. The concept was revived in 2022 with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, starring Kartik Aaryan, which also became a massive hit. Now, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 continues the legacy, with audiences enjoying the blend of horror and comedy, as well as the nostalgia of seeing Vidya in her memorable role.
