After over two decades of speculation, veteran actor Venkatesh and star director Trivikram Srinivas are finally set to work together on a new film. Though Trivikram had earlier written for Venkatesh’s films like Nuvvu Naaku Nachav, Vasu, and Malliswari, the duo never collaborated on a directorial project—until now.
Trivikram made his directorial debut in 2002 with Nuvve Nuvve, and since then, his popularity has only grown. Over the years, he has worked with top young stars, which left little room for a film with Venkatesh. Despite constant rumours of their collaboration, the project never materialised—until recently.
Following the disappointment of Guntur Kaaram, Trivikram shelved a planned period drama with Allu Arjun. There were also talks about a film with Ram Charan. However, to everyone’s surprise, Trivikram chose to proceed with Venkatesh instead.
The film’s pre-production is nearly complete, and regular shooting is expected to begin on 1 August. The team aims to wrap the film quickly and release it by summer 2026.
This will be Venkatesh’s next major project after the Sankranti blockbuster Saindhav (released as Sankranthiki Vastunnaam), which performed strongly at the box office.
The film is expected to be a family entertainer made on a medium budget, a departure from Trivikram’s recent big-budget ventures. It will be produced by Naga Vamsi under the Haarika & Hassine Creations banner, with Suresh Productions possibly co-producing.
With two powerful banners backing it and a fresh combination of Venkatesh and Trivikram, fans are eagerly awaiting this collaboration.
