Social Media platforms like Instagram, Tik Tok have given several talented youngsters to showcase their skills. While some could not go on to become movie stars or TV stars, they have a presence on social media to be recognised as influencers. Several others could find opportunities to star in web-series and appear on popular TV Channels as well.
Shanmukh Jaswanth is one of those social media sensations who could appear in Bigg Boss and star in web-series. He became even more popular with his web-series like Software Devloveper, Surya. His relationship with another Instagram influencer and actress Deepthi Sunaina, has catapulted his image among young viewers.
Post that he appeared on Bigg Boss Season 5 and became a runner-up. Post his break-up with Deepthi, he is slightly struggling to find the same level of success again. Currently, he is working in the web-series Student. Now, on 22nd February, Hyderabad Police have arrested Shanmukh Jaswanth and his brother Sampath Vinay.
Police got a complaint from a girl, Monica, allegeding that Shanmukh, his family and Sampath Vinay cheated her. She has put grave allegations against Sampath stating that he sexually and physically abused her. She stated that Shanmukh introduced her to Sampath after she requested him to give her acting chances in YouTube songs and series.
Later, she stated that Sampath never gave her any opportunity to star in a song or series but kept calling her Villas and farmhouses. Monica stated that in the name of love and with promise of marriage, she sexually abused her and even forced her to abort, once. She also put up grave allegations that he forced her to enter into a live-in relationship with him.
When she pressurised for marriage, he promised marriage and their families arranged for their engagement. From three years, the marriage has been getting postponed and finally, the families scheduled their marriage on 28th February. Meanwhile, as she and her family are gearing up for their marriage, she got to know that Sampath got married already to some other girl.
Hence, she filed a complaint against Shanmukh, his parents and Sampath Vinay. When Police went to Sampath’s residence, they found 16 grams Ganja or Marijuana and it comes under cannabis in India, which are banned for consumption. Therefore, they arrested Shanmukh, who is said to be seen smoking them along with Sampath.
Police are investigating further to understand if Shanmukh is also part of consumption of cannabis and if he buys them from any supplier, regularly. Earlier, three years ago, Shanmukh was found guilty in a drunk and drive case. Now, Monica’s allegations are grave and on top of that, he is found with cannabis.
Recently, several YouTube and Tiktok popular actors in Telugu have been arrested in grave sexual abuse allegations. Let’s see where Shanmukh’s case and investigation will lead. One thing for sure, fame doesn’t give any person free licence to do whatever they please.
