Kamal Haasan’s blockbuster film “Vikram,” directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, has left a lasting impact on audiences since its release in 2022. One of the standout elements of the film was Suriya’s portrayal of the character Rolex, a charismatic drug gang leader whose villainy captivated viewers during the film’s climax. Due to the character’s popularity, Lokesh has announced plans to create a full-length movie centered around Rolex.
In a recent promotional event for his upcoming film “Kanguva,” Suriya made intriguing comments regarding the potential “Rolex” movie. He hinted at a connection between the character and a previous film he starred in, drawing parallels between the original 1986 “Vikram” and the 2022 version. “Just as there’s a link between the 1986 ‘Vikram’ and the 2022 film, there will also be a connection to a film I have done regarding Rolex,” he stated. This revelation has sparked widespread discussions online, with fans speculating about which film he might be referencing.

Suriya’s latest project, “Kanguva,” directed by Shiva, is generating excitement as well. The film is produced by Studio Green and UV Creations and is set to release globally on November 14. The film promises to deliver a fresh concept in the period action genre, which has not been seen before on screen. Producers are optimistic about the film’s success, projecting it could gross around ₹2000 crores.
Currently, Lokesh Kanagaraj is busy with his next project, “Kooli,” starring Rajinikanth. Following this film, he has expressed his desire to create an ambitious project featuring all the heroes from his cinematic universe (LCU). “I’ve crafted scenes for Rolex that will allow me to develop a standalone movie, considering the character’s popularity. After completing ‘Kooli,’ I plan to create an exciting LCU film with all the heroes involved,” Lokesh remarked.
