Following the success of hit shows like Black White & Grey: Love Kills and The Waking of the Nation in 2025, Sony LIV, a leading OTT platform in India, is set to enthrall audiences with its latest psychological thriller series, KanKhajura. Featuring a stellar cast led by Roshan Mathew, Mohit Raina, and Sarah Jane Dias, this much-awaited series is slated for a global premiere on May 30, 2025.
The captivating trailer of KanKhajura was recently released, offering a peek into a world fraught with guilt, buried secrets, and a thirst for revenge. The series centers on two brothers, Max (Mohit Raina) and Ashu (Roshan Mathew), who grapple with a haunting past as the boundaries between memory and reality blur. Adapted from the acclaimed Israeli series Magpie, KanKhajura blends the essence of the original with a distinctly Indian narrative, delivering raw emotional depth and intensity.
Reflecting on her role as Nisha, Sarah Jane Dias shared, “KanKhajura is an unsettling yet gripping tale that dives deep into themes of guilt, family, and fractured memories. Playing Nisha, a character who’s unraveling internally while trying to stay composed, was challenging yet incredibly rewarding. Her layered complexity pushed me as an actor.”
The series boasts a talented ensemble cast, including Mahesh Shetty, Ninad Kamat, Trinetra Haldar, Heeba Shah, and Usha Nadkarni. Directed by Chandan Arora and produced by Ajay Rai, KanKhajura was created by Adam Bizanski, Omri Shenhar, and Dana Eden. Licensed by Yes Studios and supported by Donna and Shula Productions, this series promises a compelling viewing experience.
