The recent film of Siva Karthikeyan, Madharaasi has not done well at the box office. Directed by Murugadoss, the movie stars Rukmini Vasant as the heroine. Before its release, Murugadoss had promised that Madharaasi would be another blockbuster like Ghajini. However, the film failed to meet expectations.
After a series of hits, Siva Karthikeyan was in top form, but Madharaasi came as a shock. Audiences and critics say even Siva’s performance did not impress as much as hoped.
Despite this setback, the actor seems ready to bounce back with his next film, Parashakti, directed by Sudh Kongara. The movie will be a period drama, and Siva plays a student leader. The cast also includes Ravi Mohan, Basil Joseph, Rana, Adarv, and Sreeleela. Judging by the star cast, it seems Sudh Kongara has a strong plan for the movie.
Parashakti was initially scheduled for release during the 2026 Sankranti festival. However, makers are now considering shifting it to summer, around 14 April, to avoid competition. During Sankranti, actor Vijay’s Jan Nayagan and Prabhas’s Raja Saab are also expected to release. Releasing solo in April could give Parashakti a better chance at success.
Siva Karthikeyan is under pressure to deliver a hit after the disappointment of Madharaasi. Last year, he collected over ₹300 crore with Amaran, cementing his status among top Tamil stars. While it is uncertain if Madharaasi will affect his career, a successful run with Parashakti could prove his stamina and reinforce his superstar image.
Fans and industry insiders are eagerly waiting to see if Siva can turn the tide and reclaim his winning streak with Parashakti.
