Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty has announced that the Bandra branch of her famous Bastion Restaurant will be closing. Shilpa revealed that no matter how many branches open elsewhere, the Bandra restaurant will always remain special to them.
In a recent interview, renowned writer Sobha Day spoke about her visit to Bastion Restaurant in Mumbai. She admitted that at first, she thought the reports about the restaurant were not true. But when she stepped inside, she was shocked.
Sobha described seeing the massive space, which can accommodate around 1,400 guests. The restaurant has two huge halls, each capable of serving 700 people at the same time. She said she could hardly believe what she was seeing.
Despite closing the Bandra branch, Shilpa announced plans to open another branch in Juhu, called Bastion Beach Club. She emphasised that even with multiple branches, the original Bandra restaurant will always hold a special place.
Sobha also shared details about the restaurant’s success. On regular days, Bastion earns around ₹2 crore, and on weekends, the revenue can reach ₹3 crore. Shilpa and her husband, Raj Kundra, started the restaurant while she was busy with her film career. Since then, they have expanded Bastion with several other branches, making it a highly successful business.
The restaurant has become very popular in Mumbai, attracting numerous celebrities. Many are surprised at the high revenue it generates. Sobha also noted that Bollywood stars are known for making smart investments. Shilpa Shetty, in particular, has wisely invested her earnings in her restaurant business, ensuring its success.
Bastion Restaurant has now become more than just a place to eat—it is a landmark for fine dining in Mumbai. With the new Juhu branch opening soon, fans and food lovers alike can continue to enjoy the Bastion experience.
