Sharath Kumar has shared that his character in the upcoming film Dude is one of the most crucial in the story. Speaking about his experience, he revealed that the role comes with unique rules and conditions, along with a deep conflict, making it both exciting and challenging to perform.
Directed by Keerthiswaran, Dude stars youth sensation Pradeep Ranganathan, who has already delivered back-to-back hits with Love Today and Dragon. The film also features Mamitha Baiju opposite Pradeep and is produced by the prestigious production house Mythri Movie Makers. Sharath Kumar plays Pradeep’s uncle, with his character central to the drama’s emotional arc.
Sharath explained that the film explores how society reacts when certain sensitive matters arise within a family. He praised Keerthiswaran’s fresh approach, saying that Dude is not a typical comedy or drama, but a mix of humour, emotions, and entertainment presented in a unique style. Performing the role, he noted, was tough because of the different shades his character displays throughout the narrative.
He also spoke highly of music composer Sai Abhyankar, calling the soundtrack a major asset for the film. The songs released so far have already become chart-toppers, and the trailer has received huge positive response from audiences.
Sharath commended Mythri Movie Makers for their commitment to quality filmmaking, saying they provided everything the project needed without compromise and gave the director complete creative freedom. He also praised Pradeep Ranganathan for his high-energy performance and distinctive style, calling him an all-rounder with talent both in directing and acting.
The film is set to release in five languages — Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada — on 17 October, making it one of the big festive season releases this Diwali. With a strong emotional core, fresh concept, and a star cast led by Pradeep Ranganathan and Sharath Kumar, Dude promises to be more than just a mass entertainer.
