Bollywood Superstar Shah Rukh Khan continues to captivate audiences across various languages with his impressive filmography. In a recent interview, he reflected on his journey and shared nostalgic memories from the filming of his iconic movie “Devdas,” directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, which was released in 2002. The film is regarded as one of the biggest hits of Shah Rukh’s illustrious career, showcasing his remarkable acting prowess.

During the interview, Shah Rukh revealed a deeply personal connection to “Devdas.” He accepted the role primarily for his mother, who he believed would have been proud of his performance. He reminisced about the challenges he faced while taking on this legendary character, previously portrayed by iconic actors like Dilip Kumar and K. L. Saigal. Despite being advised against accepting the role due to the high expectations set by these esteemed predecessors, Shah Rukh was determined to prove himself. He noted that, after the completion of the film, Bhansali praised his work, alleviating some of the nervousness he felt leading up to the movie’s release.

Reflecting on the pressures of filming, Shah Rukh candidly shared that he battled personal demons, including an addiction to alcohol at the time. He humorously acknowledged that this struggle may have contributed to his winning the Best Actor award for the film. The film also featured stellar performances by Madhuri Dixit and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, adding to its allure.

Shah Rukh’s parents passed away before he began his acting career, a loss he often mourns. He expressed regret that they never witnessed his success and shared how much joy they would have felt had they been alive to see him thrive. He believes that if he continues to choose meaningful roles, his parents would be able to enjoy his performances from the heavens. Currently, he is immersed in his latest project, titled “King,” further solidifying his legacy in the film industry.
