Satyam Fame director Surya Kiran passes away due to Jaundice

“Satyam” starring Sumanth, Genelia D’Souza, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Rajesh, Brahmanandam, produced by Akkineni Nagarjuna became a sensational hit. The movie gave Sumanth, much required blockbuster and it became debut movie for child actor turned director Surya Kiran. He acted in films as a child actor by the stage name, “Master Suresh”.

He acted in more than 200 films as a child actor and won National awards too. He always wanted to become a director and did not pursue acting after growing into teens. He worked in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada languages as an actor. Later, Surya Kiran got a chance to meet Akkineni Nagarjuna, when his sister, prominent TV actress Sujitha, told Nagarjuna about him during the shoot of Azad.

Surya Kiran got the chance to direct Sumanth as Nagarjuna liked the way he narrated. Under Annapoorna Studios, he worked on many drafts to finally be able to direct Satyam. Music composer Chakri, gave chartbuster album and it became a surprise blockbuster. Surya Kiran found great success with Satyam but could not maintain it.

He directed Dhana 51, Brahmastram, Raju Bhai and Chapter 6 films in Telugu. Haunted by failures, he always tried to make a big comeback but the plans never worked out as he planned. He married actress Kalyani, Avunu Valliddaru Ista Paddaru fame, but their marriage ended in a divorce after some issues.

He participated in Bigg Boss Season 4 Telugu and lastly, he planned a comeback in Tamil Cinema with Varalakshmi Sarathkumar’s Arasi. Unfortunately, Surya Kiran passed away in Chennai Hospital after suffering for few weeks with Jaundice. He was born to T.S. Mani and Radha in Chennai and passed away at the age of 51 years. May his soul rest in peace.
