Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu and filmmaker Raj Nidimoru tied the knot on Monday in a private ceremony at the Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore. The wedding was an intimate affair, attended only by close friends and family, reflecting a calm and personal beginning to their married life.
Samantha made a stunning traditional statement in a rich red Katan silk saree creation designed by Arpita Mehta. The saree, crafted in pure Katan satin silk by a single artisan, featured delicate powder‑zari buttis and a Nishi‑woven border, enhanced with subtle beige‑gold zardozi embroidery, cut‑dana, kasab, and tiny mirrors — creating an intricate handcrafted finish.
To complement the ensemble, she paired it with elegant traditional gold jewellery: a heavy choker necklace, matching earrings, multiple bangles, and rings. Her hair was tied up in a bun adorned with fragrant jasmine (gajra), and her makeup was kept soft and minimal, with kohl‑lined eyes and nude lips, allowing the saree and jewellery to take centre stage.
One of the standout elements of her wedding ensemble was her wedding ring. Departing from a classic solitaire, Samantha opted for a bold geometric diamond‑shaped ring — a portrait‑cut diamond. This historic cut, known for its thin, flat profile and broad surface, has roots in Mughal‑era jewellery and symbolises elegance, clarity, and timeless beauty — perfectly suited for the occasion.
Balancing the grandeur of the ring, her mangalsutra was understated — a simple gold chain with a modest pendant, combining tradition with minimalist charm. The rest of her accessories created a harmonious balance: layered gold jewellery, minimal mehendi on her hands, and the classic white gajra in her hair.
Raj Nidimoru, meanwhile, chose a reserved and sophisticated look: a cream-coloured kurta‑pyjama set paired with a beige Nehru jacket. The neutral tones of his outfit provided a beautiful contrast to Samantha’s vibrant red saree, creating a visually harmonious couple in the wedding photographs.
