Salaar has released with a huge hype across the nation as KGF director Prashanth Neel and Prabhas joined hands. The movie received slightly mixed box office verdict in comparison with sky-high expectations. While the makers have announced Salaar 2: Souryanga Parvam by the end of the first one, now, it is said that the movie is delayed.
Director Prashanth Neel, recently, started work on his next movie with Jr. NTR. The movie team has announced that the release has been planned for 9th January, 2026. Mythri Movie Makers, the producers, have announced their movie in this combination few years ago. Now, the movie has officially started with Pooja ceremony.
This created stir among Prabhas fans wondering about the eagerly awaited Salaar 2. Fans loved Prabhas in the action avatar and wanted the works on part-2 to start immediately. But the Pan-India star has other plans. He accepted “Kalki 2898 AD”, “The Raja Saab” and “Spirit”, along with Salaar. Now, he has to allocate dates to “The Raja Saab” and “Spirit”, on high priority basis, reveal close sources.
Also, he has adhere to the condition of completing Kalki Part -2 as well in quick time. As the movie became a 1000 crore grosser, Kalki team is eager to start second part and finish the shooting in quick time. Prabhas has decided to release as many films as he can for his fans in one year, hence, he might work on Spirit and Kalki part 2, simultaneously.
Spirit, in the direction of Sandeep Reddy Vanga, could take more time being an intense action drama, say sources. Being a perfectionist, the Animal writer-director has already asked producers to not pressure for a quicker release date, say sources. Keeping in view of the current situation, Prabhas has asked Salaar makers to wait till he finishes his high priority commitments, further state sources.
So, the makers have decided to start pre-production works of Salaar 2, only after Prabhas is ready to join the shoot. Meanwhile, Prashanth Neel completed his scripting work for his project with NTR and hence, as per plan, they proceeded forward. For now, Salaar 2 is only on hold but not completely shelved. Fans of the movie can breathe easy.
