Sai Pallavi, one of the leading actresses currently making waves in Indian cinema, recently opened up in an interview about the challenges she faced while shooting for the hit film Shyam Singha Roy. She revealed that the grueling night shoots took a heavy toll on her, both physically and mentally, often leaving her emotionally drained. Directed by Rahul Sankrityan and co-starring Nani, Shyam Singha Roy was a box office success, but for Sai Pallavi, the journey to completing the film was not an easy one.
Reflecting on the experience, Sai Pallavi shared that almost all her scenes in Shyam Singha Roy were shot at night. While she was dedicated to giving her best, she found night shoots particularly challenging as she wasn’t accustomed to staying up through the night, and she struggled to get adequate rest during the day. This demanding schedule stretched over a month, during which she had to remain awake most nights. “Every night after wrapping up the shoot, I would feel a sense of relief, but I would go back to facing the same exhaustion the next night. I was struggling to cope physically and mentally,” she explained.

Sai Pallavi was simultaneously managing multiple film commitments, so her packed schedule became overwhelming. Between the night shoots for Shyam Singha Roy and other projects during the day, she barely had time to rest, leading to intense mental and physical fatigue. In a candid moment, she recounted how her sister, Pooja Kannan, came to visit her one night on set. When talking with her sister, Sai Pallavi broke down in tears, confessing her struggle to balance her commitments without a break. “I wanted to fulfill all my commitments, but a day off would have been a relief,” she shared.
Moved by her sister’s state, Pooja approached the film’s producer, Venkat Boyanapalli, and requested a day off for Sai Pallavi, mentioning how exhausted she was. The producer responded with empathy, allowing Sai Pallavi a ten-day break to recuperate before resuming the shoot. This act of understanding provided her much-needed respite, enabling her to return to the project feeling more refreshed and ready to continue.
Currently, Sai Pallavi is working on Tandel, directed by Chandoo Mondeti, where she stars alongside Naga Chaitanya. She is also set to appear as Sita in Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious adaptation of the Ramayana, a project that has already generated considerable anticipation among fans.
