Actress Ritika Singh, who gained recognition among Telugu audiences through her role in Guru, is currently making waves in the Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam film industries. In a recent interview conducted as part of the promotions for her upcoming film Vettaiyan, she discussed her career and the significance of training in martial arts.

Ritika expressed that martial arts not only enhance physical strength but also contribute to mental resilience. “Training in martial arts equips one to stand firm in the face of challenges, no matter how unexpected they may be,” she stated.

Reflecting on her experiences, she noted, “In the film industry, as well as in life, one may encounter unforeseen difficulties. It is essential to be prepared to face them. This is why I have trained in boxing and karate.” Ritika frequently shares videos of her training online, although she mentioned that some viewers have suggested she refrain from posting boxing and karate clips, expressing concern that her skills might intimidate others.

“I don’t just share fight videos; I also post photos from photoshoots and dance videos. I’ve acted in feel-good films like Oh My Kadavule and performed dance sequences for songs like ‘Kaal Pakkara.’ How else can I convey that I can do anything? Just because someone has commented about my fight videos doesn’t mean I will stop sharing them or halt my training. This is something I genuinely enjoy,” she explained.

Ritika also addressed the advice she often receives about being too strong. “Many people tell me that it’s not good to be this strong. But why shouldn’t I be? For instance, if I go out and something unfortunate happens, who will come to my aid? I should at least have some basic skills to protect myself. Not everyone needs to be a martial artist, but having the courage to express oneself is crucial. Our voice is like a weapon; it’s not about attacking but rather about defending ourselves,” she emphasized.

On the cinematic front, Ritika Singh plays a pivotal role in Vettaiyan, where she appears as an Assistant Sub-Inspector. Directed by T.J. Gnanavel, the film stars the legendary Rajinikanth, alongside Rana Daggubati, Amitabh Bachchan, and Manju Warrier. Vettaiyan is set to hit theaters on October 10, and anticipation is building among fans.
