Lyca Productions’ highly anticipated action drama, Vettaiyan, starring superstar Rajinikanth, has released its first song, “Manasilayo.” This original Tamil celebratory track introduces a poignant innovation: the legendary late singer Malaysia Vasudevan’s voice has been recreated using artificial intelligence, creating a memorable tribute to his legacy.
The Telugu version of “Manasilayo” features vocals by Nakash Aziz, Anirudh Ravichander, Arun Kaundinya, and Deepti Suresh. This stirring number, penned by Srinivasa Mouli, blends the energy of a grand welcome scene for Rajinikanth’s character with a modern musical arrangement. It cleverly nods to Rajinikanth’s previous hit Jailer by incorporating a popular line spoken by actor Vinayakan in that film, and it has a vibe reminiscent of the chartbuster “Chumma Kizhi” from Darbar.
Directed by T.J. Gnanavel, Vettaiyan boasts an all-star cast, including Amitabh Bachchan (in his Tamil debut), Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan, and VJ Rakshan. The reunion of Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan after 33 years makes their on-screen collaboration an event in itself. The film also features supporting performances by Rohini, Abhirami, and Jisshu Sengupta.
With a top-notch technical crew, Vettaiyan marks Anirudh Ravichander’s fourth collaboration with Rajinikanth, following Petta (2019), Darbar (2020), and Jailer (2023). Cinematographer S.R. Kathir and editor Philomin Raj are also key members of the production team.
Currently in post-production, Vettaiyan is set to release in multiple languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi, on October 10th. With its star-studded cast, emotional resonance, and innovative use of AI, the film is poised to be one of the biggest releases of the year, reinforcing Rajinikanth’s unmatched charisma and Lyca Productions’ reputation for delivering blockbuster entertainment. In Telugu, the film will be released as Vettaiyan – The Hunter.
The Telugu theatrical rights have been acquired by Asian Suresh Entertainments LLP, while Srilakshmi Movies has secured the Ceded rights. The film’s audio rights have been bagged by Sony Music. Super Star Rajinikanth’s fans are thrilled to see their hero at his energetic best, showcasing his captivating dance moves.
