Director Puri Jagannadh has once again shown his deep admiration for Megastar Chiranjeevi by sharing a special memory from his childhood. Known as one of Chiranjeevi’s biggest fans in the film industry, Puri revealed how his passion for the actor began long before he became a filmmaker.

Chiranjeevi, who has fans across the globe, has inspired not only audiences but also many actors and directors. Puri has often spoken about how Chiranjeevi’s acting and dancing drew him towards cinema. Though he once planned to make a film titled Auto Jaani with the Megastar, it never took shape. Still, he managed to act alongside him in a brief role in Godfather, a moment he often cherishes.

In his latest post on social media, Puri shared a touching incident from the release of Chiranjeevi’s 1983 blockbuster Khaidi. As a young boy, he drew a picture of Chiranjeevi with his own hands and placed it on display at a theatre screening the film. Decades later, Puri recently found an old diary that carried this memory. Sharing the photo, he tweeted:

“Found an old diary. On the day of Khaidi’s release, a fan had drawn a picture of Chiranjeevi and placed it for display near the theatre. That fan was none other than me.”

The tweet has since gone viral, with fans praising Puri as a “true fan” of Chiranjeevi. Many also expressed their wish to see a full-length collaboration between the two, commenting that they have been waiting for such a project for over two decades.

This story once again highlights the bond between Chiranjeevi and his fans — a bond strong enough to inspire a young admirer like Puri Jagannadh to become a leading director in Telugu cinema.
