Prabhas in Kannappa: Short Role, Big Buzz

Manchu Vishnu Kannappa

With Kannappa set for a nationwide release on 27 June 2025, attention has turned to Prabhas’ role in the film, and it might not be what fans are expecting.

Although early buzz suggested a major appearance, it’s now confirmed that the star will be on screen for only about 20 minutes, appearing halfway through the film. This has sparked mixed reactions, as many had hoped to see him play a central role.

Starring Vishnu Manchu and directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, Kannappa is a mythological drama about a tribal warrior’s journey toward deep devotion. While the film’s story has spiritual themes, much of the current excitement is focused on its celebrity-packed cast.

Alongside Prabhas, the film features well-known actors like Mohanlal, Akshay Kumar, and Kajal Aggarwal in special roles. With so many big names involved, some wonder whether the film is relying more on star power than storytelling.

Backed by producer Mohan Babu, Kannappa is being made on a large scale, with high-end visuals, elaborate sets, and a release in five languages, Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.

While Prabhas’ short appearance is sure to be a highlight, it also raises a question: is a brief cameo enough to meet the hype? For fans eager to see more of the star, it may feel like too little. But for the filmmakers, even a few minutes of Prabhas, in Kannappa, might be all they need to draw crowds when the film hits cinemas.
