Actress Poonam Pandey has said she never filed a police case against businessman Raj Kundra, husband of actress Shilpa Shetty. This comes after his arrest in July 2021 over a case involving the creation and sharing of adult content through mobile apps.
Raj Kundra was arrested by Maharashtra Cyber Police and spent several months in jail before being released on bail. Before his arrest, Poonam Pandey had made strong accusations against him, which led to a deeper police investigation. This brought to light more serious claims about adult content production.
However, in a recent interview, Poonam clarified that she never approached the police directly. She explained that she only raised issues over the use of her videos by Kundra’s company after their contract had ended.
“Raj comes from a sweet family. My fight with his company was only about the videos they continued to use after our contract expired. I have no other connection with him,” said Poonam. She stressed that her complaint was about her rights, not a criminal case.
Despite not going to the police, Poonam said she fought a legal battle in court. During this time, she claimed her personal mobile number was leaked. This led to serious problems online, including harassment and threats. She also alleged that she was pressured to sign a contract for certain types of content.
These events led to further police investigations, resulting in a new case against Raj Kundra for producing explicit content through mobile apps. The Maharashtra Cyber Police later filed a chargesheet, claiming Kundra had created and distributed such material.
The Supreme Court later granted pre-arrest bail to Raj Kundra, Poonam Pandey, and Sherlyn Chopra in connection to the case.
