The highly anticipated Bollywood film Ramayana is being crafted on a grand scale under the direction of Nitesh Tiwari, with Allu Aravind collaborating alongside top Bollywood producers. Recently, the team released an official announcement revealing that the movie will be presented in two parts. The first part is slated for release during Diwali 2026, while the second part is scheduled for Diwali 2027.
For months, various updates and leaked set photos from the film have circulated on social media, sparking excitement among fans. Ramayana will see Ranbir Kapoor stepping into the role of Lord Ram. Speaking about his role, Ranbir shared that he is undergoing rigorous training, following a strict diet, and has even given up alcohol to fully immerse himself in the character. Sai Pallavi will play the role of Sita, a character she considers a blessing to portray. “Ramayana is a story I grew up with, and playing Sita is an honor. I’ve set aside any fears and embraced this role, not just as an actor but with devotion,” she expressed. Meanwhile, Yash will bring to life the formidable character of Ravana, Sunny Deol will portray Hanuman, Lara Dutta will play Kaikeyi, and Rakul Preet Singh is set to appear as Shurpanakha.

In terms of visual effects, the production team, led by Nitesh Tiwari, has reportedly engaged the Oscar-winning VFX company DNEG to deliver groundbreaking visual experiences. Furthermore, the film’s Telugu dialogues will be penned by celebrated writer Trivikram, enhancing the narrative for South Indian audiences.
For music, the project has secured an impressive lineup. Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman will score the film alongside Hollywood’s renowned music director Hans Zimmer. Known for his powerful scores in major Hollywood films, Zimmer was reportedly captivated by the story of Ramayana and eagerly agreed to collaborate, bringing his unique musical touch to this epic tale.
With a stellar cast, acclaimed director, and some of the industry’s best talent in VFX and music, Ramayana promises to be a cinematic spectacle that will resonate with audiences worldwide. Fans can expect an extraordinary retelling of the beloved Indian epic when it releases globally across two major festival seasons.
