Bollywood’s hit film Dhurandhar will not be released in Telugu cinemas, even in a dubbed version, before it comes to digital platforms, the makers have confirmed. The spy‑action thriller, starring Ranveer Singh and directed by Aditya Dhar, has been a major success at the box office, but Telugu audiences will have to watch it online instead of in theatres.

Dhurandhar opened across India on 5 December 2025 and quickly became one of the year’s biggest hits. The film’s strong performances and gripping story helped it earn hundreds of crores, drawing fans from many regions, including Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Despite this success, the producers have decided against a theatrical release of a Telugu‑dubbed version. Reports indicate that the film’s OTT streaming deal contains a specific clause that prevents dubbed versions from first appearing in cinemas. Instead, all dubbed language versions will be released only on the streaming platform after the theatrical run.

Several big Telugu film companies had shown interest in distributing the dubbed version, but the streaming agreement means there is no way for Telugu theatres to screen it before the online launch.

The deal appears to be highly profitable for the film’s makers. Dhurandhar reportedly secured one of the largest OTT rights deals of the year and will be available to watch online soon after its cinema run ends.

This decision has led to disappointment among some Telugu fans, who had hoped to experience the film in their own language on the big screen. Social media discussions show a buzz around the possibility that a Telugu dub might arrive later, especially with the sequel Dhurandhar 2 now planned as a pan‑India release including Telugu and other languages in March 2026.

For now, Telugu audiences will need to wait for the digital release to watch Dhurandhar in their language, while anticipation mounts for the next chapter of the blockbuster franchise.
