Every actress has a story about their first crush, and Krithi Shetty is no exception. The young star, fondly called ‘Bebamma’ after her breakout in Uppena, recently revealed a light-hearted memory from her school days. Contrary to what many fans might expect, Krithi admitted she has never had a crush on any film hero. Instead, she recalled having her very first crush when she was in the third grade—on a friend of a friend during her elementary school years.
She described it as a fleeting, innocent feeling that came and went quickly. Since then, Krithi Shetty insists she has not experienced any similar crushes, neither in college nor after entering the film industry. This revelation has once again highlighted her straightforward nature, showing that behind the glamorous screen persona, she remains refreshingly candid about her personal life.
Krithi’s professional journey, however, has been a rollercoaster. Despite storming into Tollywood with Uppena, which turned her into an overnight sensation, she could not maintain the same momentum. While opportunities came her way, the expected string of hits didn’t follow, and her career in Telugu cinema slowed down.
Now, the actress is focusing on Kollywood, where she seems to have found better ground. She is playing the female lead opposite Karthi in Va Vaattaiyar, a film that has already wrapped up shooting and is currently in post-production. Krithi is also part of Love Insurance Company, produced by Nayanthara’s banner, with Pradeep Ranganathan as the hero. The film is slated for a September release.
Adding to her line-up is Jenny, another Tamil project she has pinned high hopes on. With these films, Krithi is aiming to cement her position in Kollywood and deliver the commercial success that eluded her in Tollywood. At the same time, she is keeping her connections alive in Telugu cinema, waiting for the right opportunity to stage a strong comeback.
