Nithiin plans free film with Dil Raju after Thammudu flop

Nithiin Thammudu

After the unexpected failure of Thammudu, producer Dil Raju and actor Nithiin are rethinking their next steps. Despite Nithiin’s recent string of flops, Dil Raju had shown great confidence by offering him Thammudu—a project originally meant for actor Nani, who turned it down.

Before the film’s release, Dil Raju strongly believed in its success and promoted it as a sure-shot hit. Director Venu Yeldandi, who previously had a hit with Balagam, was expected to repeat the success with Thammudu. However, the film’s result disappointed everyone, especially audiences who trusted Dil Raju’s judgement.

There were high hopes that Nithiin and Venu’s combo would deliver another blockbuster. But with Thammudu turning into a flop, focus has now shifted to their upcoming film, Ellamma. Many feel the film’s fate may now affect Venu more than anyone else.

Sources say that during the making of Thammudu, Nithiin even reduced his remuneration to help manage the film’s growing costs. Now, with Ellamma expected to have a similar budget, the question arises—will Dil Raju still go ahead?

Interestingly, there are reports that Nithiin is willing to act in Ellamma without charging any payment. If the film succeeds, he may ask for his full remuneration later. As his father, Sudhakar Reddy, is also a producer, he understands the financial risks involved and may support this move.

Nithiin is reportedly giving 20 days a month over five months for Ellamma. If all goes well, the film might be released in summer or the second half of 2026.
