Nikhil’s Swayambhu & The India House face long delays

Two of Nikhil Siddhartha’s most ambitious projects, Swayambhu and The India House, appear to be caught in a prolonged wait, leaving fans eager for news. Both films, mounted on a grand scale and planned as pan-India releases, have been on the floors for quite some time, yet there’s been little in the way of updates or promotions.

Following the blockbuster success of Karthikeya 2, which cemented Nikhil’s presence in the national market, expectations for his next ventures were sky-high. However, his later films such as 18 Pages and Spy, failed to make a similar impact. This has placed added pressure on his upcoming projects to reignite the momentum.

Swayambhu, a historical fiction drama directed by Bharat Krishnamachari, promises large-scale battle sequences and a grand visual spectacle. Featuring Nabha Natesh and Sanya Malhotra in lead roles, the film went on floors nearly two years ago. Beyond the first-look release, though, there’s been radio silence, no behind-the-scenes glimpses, no teasers, and no significant updates on shooting progress.

On the other hand, The India House, directed by Ram Vamsi Krishna, is attracting attention for a different reason: global star Ram Charan is producing it alongside Vicky. The film is also touted as a high-budget venture with a strong storyline, yet it too remains wrapped in mystery with no clear release plan in sight.

In an era where production houses often start promotions even before filming is complete, the lack of early buzz could prove risky. Audiences tend to forget films that disappear from the conversation for too long, especially when newer projects dominate the limelight.

The question now is which of these two films will see the light of day first, and whether the team can reignite interest in time. With the right push, both Swayambhu and The India House could turn into major talking points, but the clock is ticking for Nikhil to accelerate promotions.
