Netflix, in collaboration with Applause Entertainment, has released the trailer for an upcoming Tamil thriller series, The Game: You Never Play Alone. Directed by Rajesh M. Selva, the series stars Shraddha Srinath and Santosh Pratap in key roles.
The series explores what happens when a game intended for fun starts affecting real life. The trailer shows a virtual game triggering real-world events, creating suspense and tension. Fans are already intrigued by the secrets and masks hinted at in the trailer. The Game is set to stream worldwide on 2 October.
Produced by Applause Entertainment, the series is written by Deepti Govindarajan, with Selva and Karthik Bala serving as co-writers. The story delves into themes of technology spiralling out of control, family disputes, and weakening relationships, blurring the line between the virtual and real worlds. It raises the question of whom to trust when reality itself becomes uncertain.
Shraddha Srinath makes her OTT debut in the lead role, supported by Santosh Pratap, Chandini, Shyam Harini, Bal Hassan, Subash Selvam, Vivia Santh, Dheeraj, and Hema.
Director Rajesh M. Selva commented, “With The Game, I wanted to explore the delicate line between the worlds we create and the lives we live. The series combines family drama and complicated relationships with thrilling suspense. In today’s hyper-connected world, nothing stays virtual. What happens on screen spills into real life with uncontrollable consequences. Every mask hides a truth, and Netflix provides the perfect platform to bring my vision to life.”
Shraddha Srinath added, “Playing an independent woman who is also a game developer was thrilling and challenging. Her created world turns against her, becoming a terrifying reality she cannot escape. Working with Rajesh made this journey unforgettable, and we hope audiences worldwide connect with this story on Netflix.”
The trailer is now available, and viewers can stream The Game: You Never Play Alone from 2 October.
