Music composer Santhosh Narayanan cleared legendary music composer AR Rahman’s name in Maajja fiasco. He rose his voice against the label on 5th March, as his sensational smash indie hit single, “Enjoy Enjaami” completed three years of release. In a video, he stated that the label did not share even one cent from the revenues generated by the millions of streams the popular song accumulated on social media, cumulatively, over the years.
He stated that the song’s creative team, Singer Dhee, him and rapper Arivu, who wrote lyrics are yet to receive any revenue that has been promised to be shared fairly by the label Maajja. As the label has been promoted prominently as AR Rahman’s label and his venture against popular big labels to support indie artists, many thought he is alleging and accusing the legendary oscar winning composer, too.
Santhosh Narayanan clarified that AR Rahman has been supporting him in his fight against the label from the beginning. He took to X, formerly twitter and wrote, “My dearest @arrahman sir has always been a pillar of support without any expectations through the entire Maajja fiasco and he is also a victim of many false promises and malice. Thank you sir. Many indie artists including Arivu, Svdp, Dhee and many others including myself have also never been remitted our revenues in any form and have been bullied with emails.”

He continued to state that he will unconditionally support indie artists in their fight for fare dues. He also said that he will meet his mentor director Pa. Ranjith and rapper Arivu, in “Enjoy Enjaami” case and fight with them. He wrote, “I understand that emotions are high and would urge you all to support the indie artists in this juncture. I will definitely triple click on the entire episode with my mentor @beemji and rapper @Arivubeing in the coming days and as many of you know, I wish the best for them with love and want to make sure all indie artists get their fare dues met soon. Here we come.”
AR Rahman is said to have agreed to give his name to Maajja label owners, trusting their intentions. He composed a song for the label in 2022 and thereafter he did not work with them. After 2021, the label has been dormant and never released a new song post AR Rahman’s song in 2022.
Rapper Arivu has first opened up about not receiving any amount of share from his “Enjoy Enjaami” song success. He alleged that Santhosh Narayanan and Dhee have sidelined him along with Maajja label. Santhosh Narayanan has responded to his allegations stating that Arivu doesn’t know the full picture. Writer-director Pa. Ranjith has extended his full support to Arivu in the matter.
Hence, he did not collaborate with Santhosh Narayanan for the first time, in his career for his next big budget period film, Thangalaan, starring Chiyaan Vikram. Hence, Santhosh Narayanan stated that he will soon meet and clear up the issue with the director, too. AR Rahman’s reply about the fiasco is awaited.
