Mirai OG

To show of respect and industry camaraderie, the team behind the blockbuster Telugu film Mirai has decided to pause all its shows on 25 September to make way for the release of Power Star Pawan Kalyan’s much-anticipated film They Call Him OG. This rare gesture has impressed fans and film insiders alike, highlighting the strong bond between producer TG Viswaprasad and Pawan Kalyan.

Mirai, directed by Karthik Ghattamaneni and produced under People’s Media Factory, stars young hero Teja Sajja and Ritika Nayak in the lead roles. Released worldwide on 12 September, the scientific action thriller has been receiving outstanding reviews from both critics and audiences. So far, the film has collected over ₹100 crore globally, and with the Dasara holidays boosting cinema attendance in Telugu states, theatres screening the film have been packed to capacity.

Despite its massive success, the producers chose to prioritise respect and relationships over immediate box office gains. By halting Mirai shows for a single day, they are giving OG a grand launch, showcasing a rare example of generosity and goodwill in the highly competitive film industry.

Lead actor Teja Sajja has supported this decision. Starting his career as a child artist and gradually establishing himself as a lead actor, Teja’s approval reflects professionalism and respect for industry seniors. Fans have responded positively, appreciating his maturity and understanding of the gesture.

On 25 September, theatres that normally screen Mirai will exclusively showcase OG, giving Pawan Kalyan’s film a strong and uninterrupted launch. Mirai shows will resume from Friday, allowing it to continue its box office run without disruption.

This move underlines the importance of honouring colleagues and maintaining strong professional relationships, even in a commercial-driven industry. TG Viswaprasad and Teja Sajja have shown that respect and collaboration can coexist with box office success, setting a noteworthy example for the Telugu film fraternity.
