Manoj Bajpayee: Celebrating a Fourth National Award for Remarkable Acting

The 70th National Film Awards were announced recently, with the ceremony taking place on October 8 at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. President Droupadi Murmu presented the awards to the winners, celebrating outstanding achievements in Indian cinema.

Bollywood actor Manoj Bajpayee received his fourth National Film Award for his remarkable performance in the film “Gulmohar.” The prestigious award was presented to him during the ceremony at Vigyan Bhawan, where he expressed his heartfelt gratitude.

In his acceptance speech, Manoj thanked the director and his fellow actors, emphasizing the significance of this recognition for a film of such a modest scale. “It’s a big achievement for a small film to be acknowledged at the National Film Awards,” he remarked.

“I feel honored,” Manoj said. “I can’t take all the credit. I am grateful to the director who believed in me, to everyone who worked alongside me, and to all my co-stars who supported my efforts.” He also reflected on his good fortune in receiving such recognition, expressing appreciation for the audience’s love and support.

Directed by Rahul V. Chittila, “Gulmohar” tells the story of the multi-generational Batra family, who are preparing to leave their 34-year-old family home, Gulmohar. Manoj noted that Sharmila Tagore was part of the project, stating, “I’ve always felt her blessings during the shoot. I believe that a film like ‘Gulmohar’ deserves more recognition than it has received.”

He proudly mentioned that “Gulmohar” has garnered three National Awards, concluding, “We couldn’t be happier.” This recognition underscores the film’s impact and the talented individuals behind it, celebrating the rich tapestry of storytelling in Indian cinema.
