Kireeti Reddy’s impressive debut in Junior has left a lasting mark on the Telugu film industry. Released in cinemas on 18 July 2025, the gripping drama earned widespread praise for its engaging narrative, stellar performances, and rich production values. The film quickly became one of the most discussed releases of the year, and now audiences who missed it on the big screen will finally have a chance to watch it from the comfort of their homes.

Industry insiders confirm that Junior’s digital rights have been secured by Amazon Prime Video, with the film scheduled to premiere on the platform on 15 August 2025. The timing, coinciding with India’s Independence Day weekend, is expected to draw in a huge audience.

Set against the backdrop of Vizianagaram, the story begins with Kodanda (Ravichandran) and his wife Meera, who face a life-changing event when Meera becomes pregnant later in life. Amid tensions in their village, the couple is forced to leave. During their journey, Meera gives birth to a boy, Abhi (Kireeti Reddy), on a bus before tragically passing away. Kodanda raises Abhi as his own, and the boy grows into a compassionate young man.

During his college years, Abhi falls for his classmate Spoorthy (Sreeleela). After completing their B.Tech, both join a multinational company owned by Sundar (Rao Ramesh) and Vijaya Saujanya (Genelia) as interns. Assigned to a charity project in Vizianagaram, Abhi uncovers a deep-seated corruption scandal that forces him to confront his past.

The second half of the film unravels the mystery behind Kodanda’s departure from the village, reveals the truth about Abhi’s lineage, and showcases the sacrifices he makes for Vijaya Saujanya. With a strong emotional core, compelling performances, and a balance of drama and suspense, Junior stands out as a heartfelt and socially conscious drama.

With its OTT debut just around the corner, Junior is poised to reach a new wave of viewers and continue its successful run beyond cinemas.
