Tamil actor Karthi is gearing up for a big December release, with his much-anticipated film Vaa Vaathiyaar now confirmed for a Telugu version titled Annagaru Vostaru. The title announcement has sparked excitement among audiences, especially as the Telugu poster simply mentions a “December” release without a fixed date.
Originally, the film was scheduled to arrive on 5 December 2025. However, for the Telugu version, the release window remains vague. Some insiders suggest that the dubbed film might release a week after the Tamil version, though nothing has been confirmed yet.
Directed by Nalan Kumaraswamy, Vaa Vaathiyaar promises to be a high-energy entertainer. Karthi plays a police officer in the film, and Krithi Shetty takes on the female lead. The cast is further strengthened by veteran actors such as Sathyaraj, Rajkiran, Anandaraj, and Shilpa Manjunath, among others.
The plot centres on a devoted fan of MGR, the legendary actor-politician, who raises his grandson in MGR’s memory. As the story unfolds, Karthi’s character steps into the shoes of a flamboyant but righteous cop, navigating action, humour, and emotional drama.
The film is backed by Studio Green, with K. E. Gnanavel Raja producing. On the technical front, Santhosh Narayanan composes the music, George C. Williams handles cinematography, and Vetre Krishnan is the editor.
That said, there are reports of a possible delay: some sources claim the makers are reconsidering the 5 December date due to clashes with other big releases. As a result, fans are closely watching for a fresh announcement on the Telugu release timing.
For now, what’s certain is that Vaa Vaathiyaar will reach Telugu audiences under the name Annagaru Vostaru, and that it will arrive sometime in December, though the exact date remains a mystery.
