Malayalam star, who is also fondly called the adopted son of the Telugu states, Dulquer Salmaan, is starring in yet another period film, Kaantha, a period Tamil-Telugu bilingual. He is also producing the film in association with Rana Daggubati.
According to new updates, the makers have zeroed in on 1 August 2025 as the film’s release date. But the official announcement is still pending.
Set in 1950s Madras, Kaantha is a period drama directed by Selvamani Selvaraj and promises a rich, vintage atmosphere. Dulquer not only leads the film but also steps in as co-producer, joining hands with Rana Daggubati to bring this ambitious story to life.
Bhagyashri Borse plays the female lead in the film, sharing screen space with veteran actor Samuthirakani, who takes on a key supporting role. The visuals are being crafted by cinematographer Dani Sanchez-Lopez, while Jhanu handles the musical score, expected to complement the era’s tone and texture.
Fans appreciate the recently revealed first-look poster, for the its artistic design and old-world charm. With Dulquer’s track record in character-driven roles and his popularity across language barriers, expectations are already running high.
More announcements, including teasers, soundtrack previews, and promotional tours, are expected in the coming weeks as the film gears up for its big release.
