The controversy surrounding a leaked audio clip allegedly featuring Anantapur MLA Daggubati Prasad targeting Tollywood star Jr NTR has taken a new turn, with the actor’s fans openly demanding action. The clip, which recently went viral, triggered outrage among NTR supporters, many of whom accused the legislator of speaking disrespectfully about the actor and his family.

Following the backlash, MLA Prasad released a video denying the voice was his, claiming it was part of a conspiracy to defame him, and issued an apology. However, this explanation has failed to calm tempers.

The Jr NTR Fans Association organised a press conference, which was originally planned in Anantapur but later shifted to Hyderabad after permission was reportedly denied in Andhra Pradesh. Addressing the media, association members expressed their deep disappointment and anger.

“This is not the first time someone has spoken against Mr. NTR. If we remain silent, people think we are weak. We felt it was time to stand together and speak out. Fans across the world are hurt. The comments made about Shalini garu were highly insulting and unacceptable,” they said.

The association further alleged that the MLA’s denial did not hold weight, citing claims from the person on the other end of the alleged conversation, who reportedly confirmed details to various media outlets. “If the conversation was fake, why would there be threats and pressure to call it false? This proves it was genuine,” a member stated.

The fans also reminded that Jr NTR has always stood loyal to the Telugu Desam Party and had repeatedly expressed his commitment to it. “We have balanced our loyalty to the party out of respect for NTR garu. At the same time, we have formed a voluntary organisation in his name to serve society. But now we demand that Daggubati Prasad not only apologise but also be suspended from the party. If not, we will launch protests. We will not compromise,” they declared.

Another member questioned the need to drag Shalini into political remarks, calling it distasteful. The Jr NTR association concluded by urging party leaders to take immediate disciplinary action against the MLA.
