Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor is in the spotlight again—not for her films, but for her growing pay cheque. Though she has been acting for nearly six to seven years, Janhvi is yet to deliver a solid box office hit. Critics praise her acting skills and charm, and as a result, she continues to get film offers.
Her latest Hindi film, Ulajh, has also disappointed at the box office. Still, her fee as an actress shows no signs of slowing down. Reports say she continues to increase her remuneration with every new film.
Currently, Janhvi Kapoor is working on two Hindi films and one Telugu project. Surprisingly, her pay for Telugu films is reportedly much higher than for her Bollywood projects. For the film Devara, starring Jr NTR, she was reportedly paid around ₹4.5–₹5 crore, despite her limited role in the film. That film didn’t become a blockbuster, and her screen time was quite short.
Now, Janhvi is acting alongside Ram Charan in a film directed by Buchi Babu. Sources say she has charged even more for this project. She has also demanded a shocking ₹6.5–₹7 crore for another upcoming Telugu film.
Industry insiders are now questioning this steep pay rise, especially as her films are not performing well. Some believe that focusing more on strong roles and box office success would benefit her career more than demanding high fees. Analysts say she should balance her remuneration across Hindi and South Indian films.
Still, Janhvi seems firm in her approach, seeing South cinema as a way to boost her brand—and her bank account.
