Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor seems to be taking a step back from three Hindi films after facing a string of box-office disappointments this year. Her latest release, Tulasi Kumari, which came out towards the end of the year, failed to make any impact commercially despite her graceful performance in the lead role.
This marks her third consecutive flop of the year, following Home Bound and Param Sundari. Despite strong promotions and her glamorous appeal, Param Sundari fell short of expectations and was declared a disaster at the box office. Even her much-talked-about rain dance number could not save the film.
Reports suggest that Janhvi has decided not to sign any new Bollywood projects for now. She has reportedly cancelled two upcoming films that she had initially agreed to do. Industry insiders say her father, producer Boney Kapoor, is personally listening to new scripts to relaunch her career with a strong project under his own banner. However, it remains unclear if this film will release in 2026 or later.
At present, Janhvi is only working on one project — a Telugu film titled Peddhi. There are also rumours that she might appear in a key role in the upcoming Allu Arjun–Atlee collaboration, though no official confirmation has been made.
While her social media posts continue to attract attention, her films have not managed to impress audiences. Critics point out that despite being in the industry for several years, Janhvi is yet to deliver a major commercial success. Some believe her continued opportunities are due to her glamour and film family background rather than consistent acting success.
As Bollywood watchers note, a single strong hit could change her fortunes — but for now, Janhvi Kapoor seems to be waiting for the right script to bring her back into the limelight.
