Oscars

The Oscars are one of the most prestigious awards in the film industry, and every actor, director, and filmmaker dreams of winning one at least once in their lifetime. However, achieving this dream is far from easy. So far, only the Indian film RRR has managed to win an Oscar.

While several Indians have won Oscars in the past, no Indian film has ever won in the Best International Feature Film category. This year, India submitted five Telugu films for consideration in this category, but none made it to the final list. The Film Federation of India recently announced the official list of films submitted for the international feature category, which included Pushpa 2, Gandhi Taat Chettu, Kannappa, Sankranthi Ki Vastunnam, and Kubera.

Pushpa 2 has been widely successful across India and was enjoyed by audiences nationwide. Sankranthiki Vastunnam also received a strong response and performed well at the box office. Despite this success, none of these Telugu films progressed to the Oscars’ final selection.

On the other hand, India has chosen only one film to officially represent the country at the Oscars this year: Homebound. Directed by Neeraj Gaiwan, the film stars Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa, and Janhvi Kapoor in lead roles. Homebound will compete against several international films for a place in the final list.

The film is scheduled for release on 26 September. Its selection for the Oscars has already generated considerable buzz ahead of its release, which could help boost audience interest. Film fans are now eagerly waiting to see whether Homebound will make history by winning an Oscar and setting a new benchmark for Indian cinema.

India continues to strive for recognition in the international film arena, and Homebound represents the latest attempt to secure the coveted Oscar in the Best International Feature Film category.
