Tollywood director Harish Shankar, best known for his commercial entertainers, is currently working on Ustaad Bhagat Singh with Pawan Kalyan in the lead. After several delays, the project has been back on track for some weeks now, with regular filming underway. The movie is in its final shooting schedule and is expected to wrap up soon.
In recent weeks, there has been a wave of speculation about Harish Shankar’s next venture. Industry gossip suggested that after Ustaad Bhagat Singh, he might collaborate with Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja in a film produced by Dil Raju. Other rumours claimed he was in talks for a Bollywood project with superstar Salman Khan. Reports hinted that one of these would be his immediate next film.
However, Harish Shankar has now set the record straight. Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) account, he dismissed all such claims as baseless. “All the news surrounding my next project is purely speculative. I will personally announce details at the right time through an official statement. For now, my team and I are entirely focused on Ustaad Bhagat Singh,” he clarified.
Meanwhile, the production team has confirmed that shooting is nearly complete. On 29 July, the makers announced that the emotional and action-packed climax, choreographed by Nabakanta Master, had been filmed. Post-production work is set to commence shortly.
Despite his political commitments as Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Pawan Kalyan has been allocating time for the film. He plays a powerful police officer in the story, which promises to be a mix of high-octane action and drama. The film also stars Sreeleela and Raashii Khanna as the female leads, while music is being composed by Devi Sri Prasad.
Produced on a grand scale by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar under the Mythri Movie Makers banner, Ustaad Bhagat Singh is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated releases in Telugu cinema. Fans are now waiting for the official release date and the much-awaited first look of Pawan Kalyan in his full-fledged cop avatar.
