Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu expressed her happiness about being part of an industry where she gets the opportunity to work with talented people from around the world. Speaking at the trailer launch event of her new web series Citadel: Honey Bunny, Samantha responded to a question about the future of women in the film industry. She said, “I hope everyone in the industry gets equal opportunities. We have already seen some change, and I am glad to be a part of it. It’s our talent that defines who we are.”
Talking about Citadel, she mentioned, “In spy genres, whether it’s a web series or a movie, male characters usually dominate with the action sequences and dialogues. However, in this series, I also got to do some action scenes, which is quite different from the norm.”

Varun Dhawan, the lead actor in the series, shared his thoughts at the event, saying, “During the lockdown, I met producer Aditya Chopra, who was busy with Tiger 3 at the time. I asked him why he didn’t make action movies with younger actors, to which he explained about the budget constraints. So, when the creators of Citadel approached me, my first concern was about the budget. I am grateful to Raj, DK, and Amazon Prime Video for giving me this opportunity.”
The Indian version of the Hollywood series Citadel, which originally starred Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden, is titled Citadel: Honey Bunny. Directed by Raj and DK, the series will stream on Amazon Prime Video starting November 7. Samantha also made intriguing comments about the action sequences in the series during the teaser launch event, hinting that they will be one of the standout elements of the show.
