Actress Esha Deol has recently highlighted the importance of women speaking out against harassment, sharing a personal experience that underscores this message. In a candid interview, Deol recounted an unsettling incident from the premiere of her 2005 film Daas. The event, held in Pune as part of the film’s promotional tour, was attended by a large crowd eager to see the stars.
Esha Deol, who was accompanied by the film’s main actors, described how she was inappropriately touched by an unknown individual despite the presence of numerous bouncers. As she made her way into the function hall, surrounded by fans and security personnel, the incident occurred. The unknown person touched her in a manner she found highly objectionable, leaving her feeling extremely uncomfortable and violated.
In response to the harassment, Esha took immediate action. She firmly grabbed the perpetrator’s hand and pulled him out of the crowd, a move that startled those around her. Deol’s reaction was a clear indication of her refusal to tolerate such behavior. “I usually maintain a fun and agreeable demeanor, but if someone crosses the line and tests my patience, I will certainly react,” she said. Esha emphasized that every woman should assertively respond to harassment. “Men may be physically stronger, but they have no right to harass women,” she added.
Esha Deol is the daughter of Bollywood icons Dharmendra and Hema Malini. Throughout her career, she has starred in a variety of films, including Kuch Toh Hai, Yuva, Dhoom, Kaal, Cash, and Hijack. Currently, she is working on a new film titled Heroine.
