The Kollywood horror-thriller franchise Demonty Colony is set to return with its third and final instalment. The first two parts became unexpected hits, with Demonty Colony 2 even entering the ₹100 crore club. Building on that success, director Ajay Gnanamuthu is now working on Demonty Colony 3, which is expected to be the most ambitious of the series.
Although there has been no official announcement from the makers, sources reveal that the film has already gone on floors. Unlike the earlier parts, the third chapter will feature fewer characters but promises more intense thrills. Arulnithi and Priya Bhavani Shankar will play the lead roles, alongside Meenakshi Govindarajan, Vettai Muthukumar, and Archana Ravichandran in important parts.
The story of the franchise has followed mysterious deaths linked to dark forces within Demonty Colony. The second part revealed the reason behind the killings, leaving audiences with clues about what might come next. The third instalment will focus on the final battle against the evil spirit, with the climax taking place in the same room where the story first began.
Arulnithi, who leads the film, already hinted in the second part that the curse would end in that very room, confirming that this chapter will conclude the saga. Director Ajay Gnanamuthu had earlier said there would be no continuation after the third part. Most of the surviving characters from Demonty Colony 2 will return, while new additions will bring fresh layers to the plot.
The first Demonty Colony released in 2015, and fans had to wait nine years for its sequel. This time, the gap will be shorter, with part three set for release in 2027, just three years after the second film.
With the franchise already known for its gripping suspense and chilling atmosphere, expectations are high for the finale. Fans will be eager to see how the haunting tale of Demonty Colony finally comes to an end.
