New director Yadu Vamsi is at the helm of the film Committee Kurrollu, set to premiere on the OTT platform ETV. The platform has unveiled a poster announcing that “The Committee Boys” will arrive in September, although the exact release date has yet to be confirmed. The film is expected to debut in the first week of September.
The story is set in Purushottampalli, a village in the Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, where a major festival takes place every twelve years. This year, the festival is particularly significant as it coincides with the election of the village sarpanch. Shiva (played by Sandeep Saroj) decides to run for the position against the incumbent, Bujji (portrayed by Sai Kumar).
Due to clashes during the last festival, the village elders in the panchayat have decreed that the election campaign cannot begin until after the festival. The film explores the unfolding events: How will the election proceed? What happens after the festival? How does the Shiv Mitra group, previously divided by caste conflicts twelve years ago, reunite? And ultimately, who emerges victorious in the elections?
