Bobby Deol plays the role of a mute man in Ranbir Kapoor’s film Animal. Although his appearance is brief, he has impressed audiences with his acting and action skills. Recently, Deol revealed why he couldn’t fully enjoy the success of Animal. He shared that he was unable to attend the celebrations due to the passing of his mother-in-law just before the film’s release.
In a recent interview, Bobby Deol discussed his experience working on Animal. He recounted receiving a message from director Sandeep Vanga, who invited him to meet regarding a role in his upcoming film. “I received a message asking me to introduce myself and meet him for a role he had in mind,” Deol explained. After confirming the message with a call, they arranged to meet, and Deol even took a photo with Vanga at the Celebrity Cricket League event. “Sandeep told me he wanted me in the film because of the expression I showed in that photo.”

Deol was intrigued by the story and was always eager to try something new. Although Vanga did not reveal details about Deol’s character initially, he appreciated the characterization and agreed to take on the role. The entire film runs about three hours long, and the scenes featuring Ranbir Kapoor took considerable time to shoot.
“I hadn’t been called back for months after filming began, which left me scared and apprehensive. I thought Sandeep had changed his mind. I often wondered if he would reach out to me. Those thoughts lingered for a year,” he said. However, following the film’s release, Deol’s character received praise, and he did not expect the film to become a cult hit.
He praised Ranbir Kapoor for his performance, calling him “very humble,” despite being a star. Deol shot for only 12 days but expressed admiration for Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s pairing, stating, “I have known Ranbir since childhood. There are many actors in the industry, but I particularly like their pairing.”
Looking ahead, Bobby Deol is set to captivate South Indian audiences with a series of films. He will star alongside Surya in a film directed by Siva. Additionally, Deol will appear in Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hara Veera Mallu, Balakrishna’s upcoming film NBK109, Anurag Kashyap’s new project, and in the forthcoming Alpha within the Yash Raj Films Spy Universe.
