Actress Anupama Parameswaran, fondly called the ‘Kerala Kutty’, has now shared her perspective on this issue. The actress, who will be seen in the upcoming film Parada releasing on 22 August under the direction of Praveen Kandregula, spoke candidly during promotions about how she handles online comments.

Celebrities often find themselves under constant scrutiny, but for actresses, the spotlight is even harsher. Every action, big or small, tends to spark discussions, sometimes leading to harsh criticism and online trolling. While some stars take such negativity to heart, others choose to ignore it and move forward.

Anupama Parameswaran revealed that at the beginning of her career she used to read every single comment under her posts, which at times left her deeply upset. However, with experience, she has learnt that such remarks are insignificant in the bigger picture. She now chooses not to pay attention to comments, focusing only on expressing what she wants to share with her fans.

She also reflected on her experience during Tillu Square. Before its release, she faced heavy criticism and negative remarks about her role. Yet, after the film’s success, her character and performance were widely appreciated. She explained that despite anticipating negativity, she still chose to play Lily, believing that only by taking on challenging roles can an actor grow.

The actress added that, during Tillu Square promotions, she was asked many uncomfortable questions, something she feels actresses are unfairly subjected to more often than male actors. She pointed out that such questions are usually designed to generate higher views online. Answering them was not easy, but she handled them as best as she could.

With Parada set to hit theatres soon, Anupama seems more confident than ever, determined not to let online negativity affect her journey.
